Kiotis Guide to Beauty
KIOTIS Guide to Beauty
Your skin knows what it wants, but it wants different things at different times of the year. Why you should
use a night treatment as well as a day treatment? During the day your skin is exposed to dry air, pollution, and stress.
At night, your skin needs to stock up on energy. Two different times of day, two different needs, and two different solutions
for your skin: - 1 Day Care to protect your skin. - 1 Night Care to
replenish it. Follow this table to give your skin the care it needs.

Daily Rituals for Beautiful Skin
A daily regime for beautiful skin requires only 3 simple steps:
Cleanse, tone, and moisturize every morning and every night to reveal your natural beauty.
Occasionally, your skin needs extra care - purification, hydration and firming. Exfoliate and
treat your skin with a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly Pure Scrub and a Pure Mask, Gentle Moisturizing Mask or Firming Mask.
Determining your Skin Type
The first step to beautiful skin is determining your skin type. They are determined by according to
the degree of oiliness or dryness and pore size. To determine your skin type, wash your face with your regular cleanser and
wait 30 minutes. Then press a single layer of tissue paper against each area of your face: forehead, nose, chin, checks. Your
oily areas will leave traces of oil on the tissue paper. Use the KIOTIS Skin Care Guide to determine your skin's needs.
There are four basic types of skin:
- Combination Skin - is a mixture of dry and oily areas. Usually the T-Zone, the forehead, nose
and chin, is prone to oiliness. Whereas the checks and tend to be dry. More people have combination skin than severely dry
or oily. Combination Skin can either be Combination - Normal
to Oily (Normal skin on the cheeks and Oily in the T-Zone) or Combination - Dry to Oily (Oily only in the T-Zone
and Dry Taunt Cheeks).
- Dry Skin - has a rough texture and may become flaky. There are no shiny areas, in fact, the
skin looks dull. Pores tend to be smaller because less oil is produced. Without moisture, dry skin can become chapped. As
dry skin ages, it's more likely than others to wrinkle prematurely.
- Normal Skin - has an equal balance of water and oil, making skin naturally well moisturized.
The pores are medium sized. Lines and wrinkles are appropriate for age.
- Oily Skin - has a coarse texture. Usually oily areas tend to shine. Oily skin results from
overactive oil glands, the oil helps retain dead skin cells in the hair follicles. Pores tend to be enlarged. The dead skin
cells may darken with exposure to the air, forming blackheads.
Treating your Skin Type
Dry skin occurs when the dermis doesn't secrete enough oil or sebum. The result is tight, taunt,
flaky skin with a dull complexion. In more extreme cases, dry skin lacks elasticity and can be extremely sensitive to the
sun, wind and cold temperatures.
Dry Skin Care: Wash your face twice a day with Pure Cleansing Lotion, a rich, creamy cleanser,
and warm water. Rinse with cold water and pat your skin dry. Use Nourishing Day Cream and KIOTIS Nourishing Night Cream to
replenish your skin. If you do need extra purification avoid toners and makeup that contain alcohol as alcohol-based products
have a drying effect on skin. Use Pure Cleansing Toner occasionally.
Oily skin usually has a lot of shine to it and the pores are generally enlarged. It is more
prone to pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads than other skin types and is coarser in texture.
Oily Skin Care: Wash twice a day with Ultra Pure Foaming Gel and follow-up with Ultra Pure Toner.
Treat blemishes with Ultra Pure Blemish Stick. Oily skin still needs hydration, use Gentle Moisture Day Cream and Gentle Moisture
Night Cream.
Combination - Normal to Oily skin generally is normal skin on the cheeks and oily skin
with enlarged pores in the T-zone, the area that stretches across the forehead and down the nose and chin.
Normal to Oily Skin Care: Use products that will keep your skin hydrated, while minimizing breakouts
and shine in the oily areas. Wash twice a day with Ultra Pure Foaming Gel. Use Gentle Moisturizing Day Cream and Gentle Moisturizing
Night Cream, applying it less frequently to oily skin avoiding the T-zone.
Combination - Dry to Oily typically this skin type is marked by oily skin in the T-zone and
dry, taut skin on the cheeks.
Dry to Oily Skin Care: Wash your face twice a day with Pure Foaming
Gel and use Pure Cleansing toner on your T-zone, use less or no toner on your cheeks. Apply Gentle Moisturizing Day
Cream more frequently to dry skin. Liberally, use Gentle Moisturizing Night Cream focus on your dry skin areas and use less
on your T-zone.

Protect and Nourish Your Skin
- Use Sunscreen Daily, SPF 15+. Apply to all exposed areas paying special attention to face, neck, eyes
and hands. I recommend Yves Rocher Self-Defense Day Shield. I apply my sunscreen over my KIOTIS Restoring Daily Moisturizer
and under my foundation.
- Exercise! Before you step outside and enjoy nature invest in a good pair of sunglasses to protect
your eyes from debris and sun damage.
- Cleanse your face daily, once in the morning and once at night, don't sleep with make-up on no matter
how tired you are.
- Be gentle when applying moisturizers and make-up, invest in a good set of make-up brushes and wash
them periodically.
- Eat healthy - lots of vegetables and natural grains.
- Drink 8 - 12 8 oz. glasses of water a day.
- Limit caffeine and alcohol intake
